Hyperhidrosis Diagnosis

Anyone know what type of hyperhidrosis Dr. Treat?

My doctor checked with a dermatologist friend and she is not. I just need to know what kind of doctor can treat that. For those of you who do not know what it is hyperhidrosis, is a diagnosis for people with excessive sweating problems

Dermatologist or a neurologist. It is possible for a surgeon. The initial treatment for hyperhidrosis is usually medical and does not require surgery. There are ointments and salves available (ie, Drysol) they are astringent, which tend to dry the sweat glands. Another treatment is iontopheresis. This is an electrical stimulation therapy, usually hands. Patients put their hands in a bath through which passes an electrical current. This treatment tends to "stun" the sweat glands and may reduce the secretion of sweat for periods of 6 hours a week. One of the most recent treatments proposed is the injection of botulinum toxin (Botox) in the area of ??excessive sweating. This is a toxin that affects nerve endings and reduces the transmission of nerve impulses to sweat glands resulting in decreased sweating. It usually requires several injections in the palms or underarms and remains valid from one to six months. Repeated injections almost always are required to maintain an adequate level of dryness. In addition to the above treatments, many drugs have been used with varying success. These include both sedatives (in those patients with stress-induced hyperhidrosis) and medications that affect the nervous system. A family doctor or internist often begins treatment Initial hyperhidrosis. Cases unresponsive to simple treatment regimens are often referred to a specialist such as a dermatologist or a neurologist. In general, surgery is seen only when less invasive medical treatments have failed to provide proper treatment.
